The gift of a chicken

Music often greets ‘important’** outside guests on entering a village.  Sometimes villagers will sing you off as well.  As luck would have it, I have video of my very first gift of a chicken.  During my recent May trip to Angola, where I was visiting a World Vision project in the central highlands around Huambo, I was presented with a rooster by a local vip.  My very first chicken gift – though unfortunately the airline would not allow him to accompany me on the return flight.

**important is in the eye of the beholder.  I’m not trying to suggest that I agree or disagree with that assessment in this case 😉
