Eid Sunset – courtesy of our Oregon Coast Mountain

Eid ul Fitr is the holiday that wraps up the Muslim month of Fasting, Ramadhan.  I like to explain that Ramadhan is very much like a month of American Thanksgivings.  Often family, friends, and communities gather each and every night (or at least every weekend evening) to share a large meal together, enjoy fellowship, and express gratefulness for all that we have – and many times overeat, just like Thanksgiving!

This is a blurry photo as I have a point and shoot camera and am not sure how to take decent low light photos – but I had a similar sunset and crescent moon the second day of Ramadhan.  This photo was taken just now from my cabin porch – a wonderful gift for Eid.

Happy Eid!
