Digital Resource with Folk Music from around the World

This morning, NPR’s Morning Edition featured the Association for Cultural Equity, founded by Alan Lomax.  From the 1930’s to the 1990’s, Alan Lomax traveled the globe (with significant time spent in the US) recording folk music.  He founded the Association for Cultural Equity, which has now digitized the entire collection.

I’m looking forward to exploring the collection in more detail when next I’m traveling. It includes audio files, interviews and lectures, videos, and photographs from Mr. Lomax’s decades on the road.

I definitely recommend checking it out.
